“I can’t do it.”
A child might say those words when facing a seemingly insurmountable task such as a challenging homework assignment or a new social situation. With a focus on forming each child in mind, body and soul, our Catholic schools provide students with many practical tools for responding to those “I-can’t-do-it” moments.
More important, Catholic schools enable students to build a lifelong relationship with Jesus, who gives them the strength, confidence and support to become their best selves. Bringing students to Christ is the fundamental mission of every Catholic school.
Throughout each school year, both at home and in the classroom, our students have many opportunities to encounter Jesus within their loving families, in the sacraments they receive, in the strangers they meet and help, and in their interactions with one another.
Because they spend so much time focused on their faith, Catholic school students come to know Christ as the apostles did — as a teacher and good friend. Thanks to that close relationship, each student personally learns the same lesson the apostles did when they heard Jesus proclaim this truth: “Apart from me, you can do nothing” (John 15:5).
And with Him, anything becomes possible.
