Board Member Profile

Kathy Schneeman describes herself as a mom on a mission. With a passion for Catholic schools, she wants to see their enrollment increase so that more students can grow into virtuous leaders.

“Providing children with an excellent education that is infused with faith is paramount,” Schneeman said. “If kids are taught to know, love and serve Jesus, we will create critical thinkers who respect others, strive for strong families and to be our future of saints.”

As a board member for the Catholic Schools Center of Excellence, she fans the flame for Catholic schools by writing for its magazine, networking and hosting events with her husband, Eric, in their home.

Schneeman majored in elementary education at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. She taught at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic School in St. Paul and served as a coordinator in the Archdiocese of St. Paul & Minneapolis’ Office of Marriage, Family and Life.

Today, she’s a freelance writer who, along with her mother, co-authored a novel set in Ireland titled, Running the Cobblestones. She volunteers with pro-life activities, teaches faith formation and serves on the board of the Catholic Services Appeal Foundation.

The Schneemans’ youngest children are twins in fourth grade at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in West St. Paul, which she and her husband attended, as well as their seven older children.
